Autoconfigurable
Some of the feedback from Solderstar’s customers has led to the development of autoconfigurability. Whether it’s used in convection, vapour phase, wave or selective technology, the datalogger includes advanced smart adapters to allow profiling of soldering machines with zero setup and configuration.
What is more, the new SLX Datalogger benefits from 12 memories so the datalogger can be utilised to capture much more data before it needs downloading. Additional sensors such as vibration can also be used as well as the existing thermocouples and contact sensors.

In addition to hardware updates, Solderstar has also updated the software which now features integrated tools for automatic profile setup and checking, and a Statistical Process Control tool to leverage profile data for trend analysis and prediction of process problems before they happen.

The SLX is a compact, battery-powered thermal profiler/datalogger designed to measure and record process parameters across soldering technologies such as reflow, wave, selective, and vapour phase soldering. It’s intended for use in all stages of process verification and optimization.
It supports up to 12 measurement channels using Type-K thermocouples (Class 1, EN 05842 / ANSI MC 96.1). Additional sensors like vibration or contact sensors can also be used.
The SLX includes smart adapters / auto-sensing hardware so that when docked onto a SMARTLink heatshield or profile accessory, it auto-detects the configuration (thermocouples, sensors) and begins capturing profile data without needing manual configuration. This reduces errors and speeds up profiling.
It uses a high-temperature NiMH rechargeable battery which is user replaceable. A short charge via USB is sufficient for quick profiling; a full charge (≈2 hours) yields up to ~15 hours of profiling time.
Data download can be done via USB at a high download speed. There is also a 2.4 GHz wireless telemetry option for live data streaming.
The software includes tools for automatic profile setup & checking, Statistical Process Control (SPC) capabilities to trend analyse profile data, memory & status indicators for sensors and logger, and multiple stored profile memories. These allow detection of process drift before serious faults arise.
The SLX is very compact: approx. 125 × 52 × 9.5 mm, weighing ~110 g. It can tolerate up to +85°C internally after which it auto-shuts down to protect itself. It’s built for durability, uses robust thermocouple adapters, and supports use in a variety of soldering environments.
