SMS Linecontrol Software

SMS Linecontrol is a machine programming system designed to simplify and automate the process of generating SMT placement programs. It takes CAD data and transforms it into machine-ready placement files, reducing programming time and errors.

Linecontrol works with any machine that can output performance or status data — including pick & place machines, AOI, SPI, stencil printers, and reflow ovens.

By using features such as turn-key importers (for CAD & machine libraries), BOM comparison tools, machine-library integration, and line balancing to streamline setup. This drastically cuts manual edits and reduces downtime.

Line balancing helps distribute component placements across multiple machines to even out workload and avoid bottlenecks. Virtual assembly allows users to simulate PCB assembly (for scanned PCBs), helping verify placement and detect potential issues before production.

The interface is browser-based (Chrome, Edge etc.) and accessed via network/intranet/internet. It allows users to use preset layouts (“canned interfaces”) or build custom dashboards. This enables flexibility and remote access.

Over 50 CAD and machine importers are supported, plus a BOM import wizard and comparison tools to ensure CAD, BOM and machine data are aligned before program generation.

It includes a report wizard for customizable output, tools for comparing BOM vs actual placements, graphical overlay functions, and remote control to enable better traceability and quality checks.
