Productronica 2023 was back to its old strength with over 1,400 exhibitors from forty-five countries presenting innovations and solutions for the electronics industry.

SMT Storage Solutions
Automation and storage ā still a growing element of the SMT process with more suppliers extending their ranges to provide solutions for storage.Ā
The Otto KĆ¼nnecke Magic Cube solutions are designed to check stock by means of a bar code scanner or an alternative product recognition system and are then continually monitored during the complete storing and placing process.
Scienscope’s component management solution, the IMS-200, is a full inline automatic system that will help automate your incoming process and make the relabeling process safe, easy, and mistake-proof.Ā

X-Ray Inspection
X-Ray is a fast and accurate method of detecting faults in PCB assembly. As electronics are becoming more complex with smaller components and dense PCB layers, X-Ray inspection is increasingly important for monitoring production quality.
The Unicomp AX-8200 X-Ray inspection machine penetrates the layers of a PCB with VGA analysis to find hidden solder joint void defects.
Scienscope’s X-Ray inspection systems division offers inspection machines from the entry-level Xspection 1860 to the inline advanced AX17300. Both machines deliver high-resolution imagery for inspecting multi-layer PCBs, voids, and components.
PCB Surface Cleaning
PCB cleaning is a vital component of electronic device assembly as flux and other residue can lead to corrosion and board failure.
IMO GmbH PCB cleaning systems are used to clean assembled PCBs. Two models, the bench top ECO1000 and the larger ECO2000 have a 3-step cleaning process. The boards are cleaned with an alkaline cleaning agent, intensively rinsed with deionised water, and finished with drying hot air.

SMT Production Systems
SMT production systems continue to evolve and improve manufacturing efficiencies.
Yamaha was showcasing their new flagship Dual Lane Mounter the YRM20DLĀ which is ideal for a variable-mix, variable-volume production line. With 3 heads, dual lanes, and non-stop setups, the mounter delivers high-accuracy and high-speed production.
