Hawker Richardson Newsletter March 2024
Welcome to the first edition of the Hawker Richardson newsletter for 2024. We hope that you have had a great start to the year. In this edition, we are excited to share some of our recent achievements, new product releases and upcoming events.
Our service team hit the ground running in the new year installing SMT Lines in companies around Australia and New Zealand. Our valued customer, Selectronic, manufacturers of battery inverters, upgraded their SMT Line and revealed how their partnership with Hawker Richardson has positioned their company for growth and success. It’s been a huge team effort on both sides, and we are proud to be a part of the Selectronic journey.
At Productronica, our team were on a mission to find innovative products and solutions for SMT manufacturing. We were impressed with the latest developments in vapor phase technology. IBL launched the new CCS100 fully automated inline vapour phase soldering oven. A unique feature of the oven is that the vapor tank moves up/down without the PCBs moving in the vapor, thereby eliminating any chance of parts shifting. The CCS100 is available in August.
Elsewhere, we have been exploring the clean and green benefits of clinching technology which is fast becoming the sustainable fastening solution of the future. Compared with traditional methods of welding and riveting the clinching process reduces waste, energy consumption, and environmental impact. BTM, the world leader in precision tooling explains the various tools available to make leakproof joints.
Registrations are now open for our upcoming webinar on SMT Component Management. This webinar is for CEMs, OEMs and electronic manufacturers facing challenges with SMT component handling and storage. Find out how to bring structure to component management and increase efficiency in the PCB assembly line.

IBL Launches New CCS100
IBL launches the new CCS100 fully automated high-performance inline vapour phase soldering oven. The multiple-carrier system produces high-quality results at medium to high volume throughput and is designed for 24/7 operation.
With the newly developed patented Vapour Energy Control (VEC), the CCS100 sets a new benchmark in vapour phase technology.
Selectronic Case Study
Uncover how Selectronic’s partnership with Hawker Richardson has positioned them for sustained success in a rapidly evolving industry.
This case study delves into the specific pain points experienced by Selectronic, detailing how to adoption of a state-of-the-art automated SMT line has revolutionised their manufacturing capabilities. Learn about the key features and benefits of the new SMT line that enabled Selectronic to streamline their production, enhance efficiency, and meet growing demands.
BTM Clinching Technology
Clinching technology is fast becoming the manufacturing superhero as a sustainable fastening solution. The clinching process, a breakthrough in industrial engineering, uses punch and die tooling to create leak-proof joints in a single press stroke. Implemented on a large scale by Audi in 1985, clinching technology has accelerated in recent years because of public and industry demand for more sustainable ways of manufacturing.
SMT Component Storage Webinar
Join us for our Introduction to SMT Component Management webinar and learn about the latest “Smart Factory” solutions for component receiving, storage and stock return. Get our experts’ insight on products and how Industry 4.0 is moving towards full automation.
During the webinar, you’ll have the opportunity to engage the presenters and each other with comments and questions.

Vibratory Bowl Feeders
Vibratory feeders offers a cost-effective alternative to manual parts insertion and sorting, savings businesses time and labour costs. Our extensive range of bowl feeders are suitable for sorting, buffering and transporting various small parts and fasteners including screws, nuts, pins, washers, caps and special elements.
Virtual Line Demonstration
We have created a virtual demonstration which allows you to view an entire SMT line within a production environment, utilising one of the best configurations on the market, captured at a state-of-the-art facility in Sydney, Australia.
You can move back and forth along the line of products seeing them in-situ, as well as accessing datasheets, weights and dimensions, 360-degree views of each system, and a video overview providing a brief introduction with key features.
