The TS-100 is used to splice together partial carrier tape reels, to add leader/trailer tape, or combine reels so you have the correct number of parts on a reel. It helps avoid wasted tape pockets when feeding components in SMT assembly.
It supports carrier and cover tapes in the 8-24 mm width range for both carrier and cover tape. The splicer works with standard embossed and paper carrier tapes.
It can handle minimum part sizes of about 2mm × 2mm (equivalent to 0805), depending on operator precision and alignment.
No — the TS-100 is a manual tool, requiring no power to operate. It’s lightweight, portable, and low maintenance.
The TS-100 comes with scissors and 100 pieces of splice tape. You’ll need universal splice tape (adhesive) and cover/carry tape as consumables.
Its dimensions are approximately H 2″ (5 cm) × W 10″ (26 cm) × D 8″ (20 cm), and weight is about 8 lbs (3.6 kg).
Yes — the TS-100 allows you to splice between sprocket holes so that you can align the ends of carrier tapes accurately. This helps ensure minimal empty pockets and consistent feeding in machines.
It’s especially useful when you have partial reels and want to avoid waste, during kitting for assembly, or when needing to add leader/trailer to tapes. It’s ideal for lower-volume uses, labs, or assembly operations without full automation.
