The Multi Function Magazine-type Buffer is a robust PCB buffering solution for SMT/PCB assembly lines that stores printed circuit boards inside removable magazine racks, allowing efficient load-in, load-out, buffering or reject storage between production stages. It supports multiple operating modes — such as FIFO, LIFO, loader, unloader, reject-stock and pass-through — and uses pneumatic clamps and a regulated pusher system to ensure precise, damage-free handling. With smooth, frequency-inverter-driven indexing, compact footprint, standard SMEMA compatibility and optional additional magazine capacity, it’s well-suited for mixed-model or high-mix production lines requiring flexible buffering or NG/OK segregation.

A magazine-type PCB buffer stores printed circuit boards inside removable magazine racks, acting as a temporary buffer between SMT machines (e.g. after reflow, inspection, or before testing). This helps smooth out differences in cycle times between upstream and downstream machines, reducing downtime and preventing bottlenecks.
The buffer commonly supports multiple modes of operation: FIFO (First-In-First-Out), LIFO (Last-In-First-Out), loader/unloader (load-in or load-out), NG (non-good) buffer / reject storage, and pass-through bypass mode — providing flexibility depending on workflow needs.
Yes — it is typically built with a standard interface (e.g., SMEMA) for easy integration into existing SMT production lines. That makes it suitable for linking upstream and downstream machines without custom conveyor modifications.
Yes — most magazine-type buffers support a broad range of PCB sizes (within specified min/max limits) and use mechanisms such as pneumatic clamps, magazine racks, and motorised pushers or lifters to safely load or unload PCBs without damaging them.
A magazine-type buffer provides secure, stable storage of multiple boards (including NG/reject boards), reduces the risk of board damage during handling (due to clamps and rack storage), and simplifies NG/OK segregation and buffering. It’s particularly useful for lines needing load-in/load-out flexibility, reject handling or controlled storage — rather than continuous flow like a belt conveyor.
