Mantis ERGO

The Mantis ERGO offers a magnification range of 3× to 15×, via a three-lens turret. You can switch between lenses quickly to suit the detail needed.

The design is highly ergonomic:

• Eyepiece-less viewer means your position is upright and more natural.
• Large working distance under the lens allows tool use and manipulation without awkward reach.
• Wide field of view lets operators see more without moving their head unnecessarily. This reduces fatigue.

The ERGO supports several illumination modes:

• White light with bright intensity (up to ~ 21,000 lux in incident lighting) and colour temperature ~ 5500K.
• UV lighting option for applications like conformal coating inspection.
• Transmitted (base) illumination via the “Stabila Illuminated Base” in some configurations, useful when you need to see through or under partially transparent or perforated samples.

The working distance and FoV depend on the lens used:

• e.g. 3× lens gives ~ 100 mm working distance and ~ 44.1 mm FoV.
• As magnification increases (6×, 10×, 15×), working distance drops (e.g. ~ 40 mm for 15×) while the field of view narrows to ~ 9 mm or less.

• Head unit dimensions: ~ 275 mm (depth) × 218 mm (width) × 371 mm (height).
• Weight (head only) around 4.4 kg, and maximum operating weight when mounted (depending on stand) ~ 6.4 kg.
• Stand options: Stabila base (with or without illuminated base), Verso arm / Verso universal stand, possibly extension arms. These give varied height reach and flexibility.

Yes. Because of the eyepiece-less optical design, wearing eyeglasses or eye protection is supported without loss of viewing comfort or quality. This is part of the ergonomic design.

It is ideal for applications that require detailed visual inspection but also require operator comfort and flexibility, such as:

• PCB inspection, rework, and solder joint work.
• Conformal coating inspection (using UV/white lighting) for coatings consistency.
• Precision mechanical / small parts inspection in industries like medical devices, life sciences, aerospace where fine detail and depth perception are needed.

• At higher magnifications (e.g. 15×), working distance decreases and field of view narrows, which can make positioning challenging.
• It is optical only (no built-in camera in the ERGO version) — if image capture / sharing is needed, you would instead consider the PIXO model.
• Requires a good stand and correct setup (lighting, base, height/ergonomics) to get the best performance; otherwise, eye strain or less accurate viewing may result.
• The price for full ergonomic stands / illuminated bases / UV lighting options add extra cost beyond just the head unit.
