The Laser Marking Cell Series 5 is an advanced, automated PCB marking solution designed to permanently etch text, barcodes, 2D-codes or graphics directly onto printed circuit boards — enabling robust traceability, product identification and quality control in SMT lines. It uses a 10 W CO₂ laser in a Class-1 protective enclosure with air-cooling and fume-extraction for safe, continuous operation. A 3-axis galvo-head enables large-area marking (up to ~ 350 × 350 mm) without needing an X–Y gantry, which yields a short cycle time — making the unit ideal for high-volume PCB marking. The machine includes an adjustable conveyor width, PCB side-clamping, SMEMA compatibility, and an optional integrated inverter for double-sided marking plus optional camera or barcode-scanner for post-mark readability verification. Housed in a robust frame and controlled via an industrial PC with a 21.5″ monitor, the Series 5 delivers reliable, high-precision marking suitable for integration into modern automated PCB assembly and traceability workflows.

A PCB laser marking cell is an automated machine that permanently etches barcodes, QR codes, serial numbers, and text directly onto printed circuit boards. It enables full PCB traceability in SMT production lines, helping manufacturers track components, improve quality control, and comply with industry standards.
The Series 5 uses a 3-axis galvo laser marking system that covers a large marking area without requiring X–Y table movement. This design significantly reduces cycle time and boosts throughput, making it ideal for high-volume PCB laser marking applications.
Yes, the system offers an optional integrated PCB inverter, allowing automated double-sided PCB laser marking without manual flipping. This is particularly beneficial for manufacturers needing comprehensive identification on both PCB surfaces.
The CO₂ laser can mark 2D DataMatrix codes, QR codes, barcodes, serial numbers, alphanumeric text, and simple graphics. These markings are permanent, high-contrast, and suitable for machine-vision inspection and automated barcode scanning.
Yes, it is fully SMEMA-compatible, allowing seamless communication and integration with upstream and downstream SMT machines such as loaders, unloaders, conveyors, pick-and-place equipment, and AOI systems. This makes it easy to implement in automated SMT traceability workflows.
Key considerations include marking speed, marking accuracy, laser type, safety enclosure class, optional vision or verification systems, conveyor adjustability, and integration capabilities. The Series 5 stands out with its Class-1 laser enclosure, 3-axis galvo head, large marking area, air-cooled operation, and industrial PC control, making it a strong choice for advanced PCB traceability and high-speed production environments.
