Cab Pre-Scored PCB Separators Maestro 4S Series

The Maestro 4S is a motorised PCB separator designed specifically for pre-scored or pre-milled groove PCBs. It allows separating boards quickly, economically, and with minimal stress on sensitive components, thanks to its circular blade on the component side and linear blade on the solder side.

• There are two main models: 4S/450 and 4S/600, offering separation lengths of up to 450 mm and up to 600 mm respectively.
• The machine supports component-height on both sides up to ~34 mm.

The separator has two switchable speeds: 300 mm/s (lower speed) and 500 mm/s (high speed) modes, letting users adjust depending on board type, scoring quality, or component sensitivity.

• It works with standard FR4 PCBs, and also aluminium PCBs (with special blade / blade-setting adjustments).
• Board thickness supported is in the range of 0.8 mm to 3.2 mm for FR4 models; aluminium versions have lower thickness limits.
• The minimal scoring / groove depth is around 0.25 mm, and blade distance (between circular and linear blade) is adjustable from ~ 0.9 mm down to ~0.05 mm depending on scoring and component clearance.

• Blade distance is motor-driven with entry via the user panel.
• Up to 9 separation programs can be stored for repeatability.
• A “cutting performance display” (kilometre counter) shows blade usage (up to ~99 km) to enable preventive maintenance.
• Safety switch (emergency stop), foot switch START, key switch for mode selection, etc.

• The 450-mm model weighs ~ 38 kg, the 600-mm model ~ 46 kg.
• Dimensions (Height × Depth): 434 × 425 mm; widths: 702 mm (for 450 model), 852 mm (for 600 model).
• Power supply: 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz (wide range), with PFC.
• Operating environment: temperature +5°C to +40°C; humidity 10-85% non-condensing. Storage & transport ranges are broader.

• The separator allows multi-step cutting: even though in some cases a groove is traversed twice, each time with slight blade adjustment to limit tensile/compressive stress.
• Blade alignment features: upper and lower blades are guided and checked via dial gauge assemblies to ensure parallelism, which keeps separation clean and reduces damage.
• Minimal increase in external PCB dimensions after separation (typical ~0.2 mm).

• Only works with pre-scored grooves/milled grooves; boards without appropriate scoring will not separate cleanly or may damage the separator or board.
• For thick boards or large component height on the groove, a special blade or recessed blade may be necessary to avoid interference.
• Aluminium boards require blade adjustment / different blade settings; using the circular blade for FR4 on aluminium has higher wear and may require maintenance more often.
• Even though the motorised features reduce manual effort, setup (blade distance, program storage, adjusting speed) still requires trained operators to optimise separation without causing stress or component damage.
